Dublin

Capital of the Republic of Ireland, founded by the Vikings, the city is situated on the mouth of the Liffey river.
Dublin is renowned for the celebrations in honour of St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland, and many are the greatly attended pubs and buildings in Georgian style.

St. Patrick’s cathedral, dedicated to the homonymous saint, was built in 1255, then enlarged in the following centuries. Today, it represents the focus of the celebrations in honour of the saint: every year in March a parade is held along the city centre’s streets.
In occasion of St.Patrick’s Day thousands of tourists gather in the city, also attracted by the many pubs, where it is possible to sip the famous Irish beers, among which the notorious Guinness.
And the Irish stout has been dedicated a museum: The Guinness Storehouse.
The museum’s roof top houses the ‘Gravity Bar’, where you can admire all of Dublin’s view. Another must is the Temple Bar.

For architecture lovers, do not miss the Custom House, one of the best examples of Georgian architecture.
