Emirates celebrates six years of operations in Bologna with over 770,000 customers flown to and from the city
The Bologna-Dubai route is currently served by a Boeing 777-300ER with a three-class configuration. Emirates offers four flights a week, all of which are operated in 'covid tested' mode, which allows passengers to travel to Italy without quarantine on arrival.
“We are really proud to celebrate our sixth year of operations in the Emilian capital - said Flavio Ghiringhelli, Emirates Country Manager in Italy. The Bologna-Dubai connection is strategic for us and we are pleased to note that this route is benefitting from the Expo 2020, as we see an increase in outbound traffic to our hub in Dubai. But the Bologna-Dubai service is much more: it also allows customers to go beyond Dubai, connecting them to over 120 destinations around the world to visit their families of origin, to take a holiday to a new destination or to facilitate companies in Bologna to connect with trade partners and access more markets”.
In recent years, Emirates has helped ship many tons of goods between Bologna and Dubai. Among the most frequently transported goods are automotive spare parts, spare parts and machinery for the packaging industry, ceramic tiles, fruit and vegetables, shoes and clothing, as well as luxury cars.
Emirates' connections between Bologna and Dubai operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with flight EK093 departing from Dubai at 8:55 am to arrive in Bologna at 12.40pm. Flight EK094 takes off from the Emilian capital at 2.30pm to arrive in Dubai at 11.20pm. In addition to Bologna, Emirates connects Dubai with Italy from Rome with daily flights, Milan with 12-weekly flights - and Venice four times a week. All the airports operate 'Covid-tested' flights.
Increasing frequencies for Rome and Milan
As Emirates caters to higher customer demand, the airline will be increasing frequencies on its Dubai-Rome route to 9 times a week from 26 November and on its Dubai-Milan route to 13 flights a week on A380 from 2 December. Emirates also operates daily flights from Milan to New York on a B777-300ER, which would be upgraded to A380 from 01 December.
Flexibility and Assurance: Emirates continues to lead the industry with innovative products and services and recently took its customer care initiatives further with even more generous and flexible booking policies, which have been extended to 31 May 2022. It has also extended its multi-risk insurance cover, and is helping loyal customers retain their miles and tier status.
Dubai and Expo 2020: Since it safely resumed tourism activity in July, Dubai remains one of the world's most popular holiday destinations, especially during the winter season. The city is open for international business and leisure visitors. From sun-soaked beaches and heritage activities to world class hospitality and leisure facilities, Dubai offers a variety of world-class experiences. It was one of the world's first cities to obtain Safe Travels stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) – which endorses Dubai's comprehensive and effective measures to ensure guest health and safety.
Dubai is hosting the world for Expo 2020 between October 2021 and March 2022. Through the theme of Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, Expo 2020 Dubai aims to inspire people by showcasing the best examples of collaboration, innovation and cooperation from around the world. Its six-month program is packed with experiences to suit all ages and interests, including a rich line-up of themed weeks, entertainment, and edutainment. Art and culture fans as well as food and technology enthusiasts can explore exhibits, workshops, performances, live shows and more.
Health and safety: Keeping the health and wellbeing of its passengers as top priority, Emirates has introduced a comprehensive set of safety measures at every step of the customer journey. The airline has also recently introduced contactless technology and scaled up its digital verification capabilities to provide its customers even more opportunities to utilise the IATA Travel Pass, which can now be used across 50 airports served by Emirates.
