As of 31 March 2022, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will connect Bologna with its hub in Zurich four times a week. Flights will be operated by SWISS with an aircraft type Airbus A220-100/A220-300 as well as by Helvetic Airways with an aircraft type Embraer E190-E2/E195-E2 on behalf of SWISS. The flights will be operated on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
The latest generation aircraft types Airbus A220-100/A220-300 and Embraer E190-E2/E195-E2 apply the latest advances in engine, systems and materials technology to set new standards in terms of profitability and environmental compatibility. Fuel consumption compared to similar aircraft is reduced by as much as one quarter. Further, in terms of human auditory sensitivity the aircraft generate only half the noise level of their predecessors. Thanks to innovation in cabin design, passengers can look forward to a significant increase in travel comfort, too.
“We are delighted to offer Bologna, very important city and region for the whole Lufthansa Group, this new SWISS flight which helps increase the network in Italy. Thanks to the new connections to Zurich, being of interest both for business and leisure segments, the SWISS passengers can then go on travelling to the many destinations operated in Europe, Northern America, Middle East and Asia. The new flight also reconfirms the steady presence of the Lufthansa Group in our market and in Bologna, where just a few days ago Lufthansa celebrated the 35th anniversary of the first flight Bologna Frankfurt”, says Mrs. Gabriella Galantis, Senior Director Sales Southern Europe Lufthansa Group. “
