  • NOTICE OF WORK AT THE AIRPORT

Passengers are advised that we resumed the work of upgrading spaces and replacement of machines at security controls, with remaking of floor and reduction of access lanes to the boarding hall. We have already activated 4 new machines before the summer, now we are working on the activation in successive phases of another 4 machines, to make security checks easier and faster.

We apologize for the inconvenience, we are working to make our airport more comfortable and efficient.

Photovoltaic

Projects involving photovoltaic systems

Aeroporto di Bologna is working to develop and implement photovoltaic system projects that will make the airport increasingly virtuous from an energy perspective, exploiting solar energy.

Work on two new photovoltaic systems has been completed: one on the roof of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) building, with the positioning of 240 panels and an installed capacity of around 100 kW, and a second system over the roof of the terminal, with over 750 panels and a capacity of around 300 kW, currently being connected.

At the same time, the Company is working on the project for a large photovoltaic system to the north of the runway, which will contribute significantly to the decarbonisation of the entire airport. The design of the plant envisaged the construction of a photovoltaic field with approximately 9,500 panels that will be able to reach a capacity of 4,400 kW.

Aeroporto di Bologna therefore expects to equip itself with photovoltaic systems in the coming years that will develop a total capacity of approximately 4,800 kW.

Other works

At present, the electricity not self-generated on site is 100% from renewable sources, while methane gas is purchased with offset emissions. Furthermore, several efficiency measures have been implemented in recent years, such as the trigeneration plant and relamping of the workshop, light towers and passenger terminal. These green projects, together with new initiatives, will make it possible to reduce emissions and facilitate the airport’s decarbonisation.
